A series of social media posts hit devices yesterday morning as teachers  awoke to find out their  pay was not deposited.

Paydays are an integral part of any job, and when the check isn’t there on time, it can cause stress. A series of social media posts hit devices yesterday morning as teachers  awoke to find out their  pay was not deposited. The NLTA was told the problem is fixed, but expressed concern, saying “this incident is, unfortunately, part of a larger context and just the latest in a long list of ongoing payroll challenges for teachers.” There have been numerous meetings with officials, including several involving the Minister of Finance, over the past couple of years.  Unfortunately, problems with payroll errors continue. Systemic concerns persist with no end in sight.  The number of payroll related grievances filed by teachers  is unprecedented, with many remaining unresolved and outstanding for significant periods of time.
