Susan Walsh says “Seniors in Newfoundland and Labrador are struggling financially.”

The province’s Seniors Advocate has joined national colleagues to urge the federal government to include seniors in the potential $250 rebate, which is currently called the Working Canadian Rebate.  Susan Walsh says “Seniors in Newfoundland and Labrador are struggling financially.” The median income of seniors in Canada is $33,350 (2022). In Newfoundland and Labrador, the median income of seniors is the lowest in the country at $27,800.)Walsh says “ Initiatives that see any level of government utilizing tax dollars to assist citizens to deal with the cost of living should be targeted to those in our society who need it most.
