NL Homeowners who provide short term accommodations will be under new regulations this fall

    Short-term accommodation operators in the province who have not registered with the Provincial Government by November will be subject to penalties.

    New regulations for tourist accommodations will come into effect this fall. Legislative amendments to the Tourist Accommodations Act require short-term accommodation hosts, who list their primary residences,  to register with the Provincial Government. Additionally, short-term rental platforms are required to remove any listing that is not registered and to share information about their listings with government. Short-term accommodation operators in the province who have not registered with the Provincial Government by November will be subject to penalties. To date, 2,630 accommodations have been registered.
