Newfoundland and Labrador will receive more than $19 million for hosting, infrastructure and outreach for the 2025 Canada games from August 8th-25th in the capital city. The bulk of the money, over $17.9 million is from the Department of Canadian Heritage, through Sport Canada, and the remainder is from ACOA to cover the costs of the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as marketing. Minister Gudie Hutchings says “The 2025 Canada Games brings young athletes together from across our country for a celebration of friendship, sport, and competition. Newfoundland and Labrador’s warm hospitality makes it the perfect place to host this 30th edition of the Canada Games.”
