Linda Chaisson says they will evaluate the service at the end of the summer.
Years ago, the city of Corner Brook offered a weekend transit service but it wasn’t being used and Mayor Linda Chaisson says it didn’t work. In 2021, a study including residents and bus riders was conducted. Last month, an evening and weekend on-demand service was launched. People can book a trip on transit by using the Blaise mobile app, online at blaisetransit.com, or by calling 709-289-3124. On Bayfm, the Mayor says it’s been busy and they will evaluate the service at the end of the summer. Last year, the city launched a dedicated, door-to-door on-demand service for accessible transit users. This year’s budget has $826,000 for transit.
