This is World Oceans Week and there’s an event happening at the Majestic Lawn in Corner Brook this weekend. On Sunday, there will be a “March for Atlantic Salmon” from 2-4 p.m. Rebecca Brushett is the Executive Director of the Atlantic Healthy Oceans Initiative. She says it’s a chance to join with First Nations People, west coast tourism operators and concerned citizens to promote healthy oceans and oppose the expansion of open-net salmon aquaculture. Brushett says wild Atlantic salmon on the south coast are now an endangered species. There will also be a special top chef pop-up celebration at the event on Sunday. Attendees are asked to wear pink or blue and bring the family.
