Runs open will be Crooked Feeder, Chilliwack, Hansen's Run, Marble Chute, Random Passage, and Major’s Path. Intermediate and Advanced terrain only, no easy way down. Broadway Beginner’s Area requires more man-made snow, open next week.

Despite not having much snow in the forecast recently, crew at Marble Mountain have been working since the beginning of December to get to this day. Snow making equipment has been flat out at the ski resort making runs for eager downhill skiers and snowboarders. Bruce Hollett is the chair of the Marble Mountain Development Corporation. He says the mountain is open today with the first chair lift on the Lightning Express starting at 9 a.m. Howell says this is actually four days earlier than opening day last year. He says there will be 6 runs open today on the west side of the mountain. He says the forecast is calling for a little snow with rain on Sunday and Monday, but  it shouldn’t affect operations. The Black Mariah will not be operating this season as the 36 year old lift needs major work and time to be certified to operate.

Runs open will be Crooked Feeder, Chilliwack, Hansen's Run, Marble Chute, Random Passage, and Major’s Path. Intermediate and Advanced terrain only, no easy way down. Broadway Beginner’s Area requires more man-made snow, open next week.
