Log on to learn how to become a police officer, RCMP to host online session

    The RCMP is hosting a virtual event on Thursday starting at 7pm.

    There’s still time to register for an online recruitment information session for anyone interested in becoming a police officer. The RCMP is hosting a virtual event on Thursday starting at 7pm. Cpl Peter Gosse says the whole application process can be found online and anyone, anywhere, can log on to find out information.Gosse says there are many different types of careers within the RCMP, up to 150 different types of jobs. Basic requirements are be a Canadian citizen or have permanent residence status in Canada for 3 of the last 5 years, at least age18 to apply and 19 at graduation, fluent in english and or french, have a valid, non-restricted driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to carry and use a firearm, be willing to relocate anywhere in Canada, and complete a vision and hearing test. For more information contact Cpl Gosse at 709-772-5871
