For walkers, the paved section of Corner Brook Stream Trail, between Margaret Bowater Park and the Sir Richard will be closed.

Work on the Deep Gulch project started in 2024 and today, final steps like landscaping will begin. It’s in an area at the intersection of O’Connell Drive and University Drive, and involved the replacement of a major culvert.  For walkers, the paved section of Corner Brook Stream Trail, between Margaret Bowater Park and the Sir Richard will be closed. The sidewalk on both sides of O'Connell Drive and the trail will be accessible. Motorists are advised to follow directions from flag persons and there will be construction signs. At a cost over $3M, the city’s Director of Engineering, Donny Burden said the Deep Gulch project is probably the biggest excavation capital project to ever take place in the city.
