Executive Director Lisa Faye says the legislation that has been passed to date does not include all of the public sector and leaves out the private sector completely.

Industry Minister Andrew Parsons is optimistic since Equinor announced plans to bring the Hercules Rig here to begin drilling next year. The company had announced earlier this summer the planned Bay du Nord Project would be put on hold for up to 3 years due to increasing costs. Minister Parsons says the project was never cancelled and the fact they are coming next year to drill is very positive. EnergyNL CEO Charlene Johnsons says the Bay du Nord project will mean billions for the economy.
