Connie Rose says her fondest memories are when royalty visited. First, with Prince Edward in 1988 and Princess Anne in 1991.
Staff at the Glynmill Inn are gearing up for 100th anniversary celebrations this year. The Inn was designed by Andrew Cobb and opened on June 30th, 1924. Prior to this time, it had been used as living quarters for senior staff overseeing the construction of Corner Brook Pulp and Paper. Connie Rose has been the Manager at the Glynmill Inn for the past 45 years. She says her fondest memories are when royalty visited. First, with Prince Edward in 1988 and Princess Anne in 1991. Rose says staff wore NL tartan and lined the entrance to meet them and there was a bagpipe player. Rose says another highlight was when hockey legend Bobby Orr stayed at the Inn.
