Government wants to eliminate Hepatitis C in this province.
A steering committee has been created that will use innovation and action to reduce the number of incidents of Hepatitis C in this province. It’s part of internationally agreed upon Hepatitis C elimination goals for 2030. This will include access to testing, treatment, and care, and support. Newfoundland and Labrador has seen increases in Hepatitis C in all regional zones. Since 2017 rates of new Hepatitis C infection in this province have been above the national rate.
