Those who may be eligible include individuals receiving Employment Insurance. unemployed individuals without the necessary hours to receive Employment Insurance, but who have had a previous claim within the last five years, or paid Employment Insurance premiums in five of the last ten years. Approximately $140 million is available each year to train and upskill Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Forecasts estimate that in the next ten years there will be 16,500 job openings in trades, transport and equipment operators and related occupations.
