Michelle Payne says the writing was on the wall during the Covid pandemic, and cutting store hours was a hard and heart breaking decision.
The owner of a store in Curling says she had no other choice but to move to seasonal operation. It was 16 years ago when Fox’s General opened their doors, and effective September 30th they will close until next year. Michelle Payne says it all started out of her desire to have a community store while being her own boss. She says the writing was on the wall during the Covid pandemic, and cutting store hours was a hard and heart breaking decision. Payne says at this point she’s not sure what products will be offered next year. She says community projects will continue, like the coat drive, but that will happen at Vine Place. Payne says the store will close at the end of September and re-open sometime in May.
