A former Anglican Minister in Corner Brook who was stripped of her license by Bishop John Organ is exhausting her resources for help and is considering legal action. Kay Short, known to her former congregation as dean Catherine, was removed by the Bishop on January 16th and at the next public Sunday morning gathering, he told the congregation about it. Short says after the meeting with the Bishop, she took a day to think about things. She says everything has gone downhill ever since and protocol was not followed. Short says the Bishop has reached out to her for reconciliation but return to work in that unsafe space, or by the side of the Bishop, is not an option for her at this point.
Bayfm News has been attempting to reach the Bishop for a comment but we have not heard from him. The Anglican Church of Canada did issue a statement after all members of the vestry resigned recently due to Dean Catherine’s removal and the refusal of a meeting, saying this matter is beyond their jurisdiction.
