The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture has submitted a five-year operating plan for Crown zone 6, which is most of southwestern Newfoundland. It extends from Burgeo and Port aux Basques in the south to Deer Lake in the northeast and to Sally’s Cove in the north. The plan includes a description of proposed commercial and domestic timber harvesting operations, the construction of forest access roads and silviculture activities. It covers the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028.
