Expect to see more RCMP on our highways this weekend

    Cpl Jolene Garland says police made 5 impaired driving arrests last weekend, however none were reported from the west coast.

    It’s the last long weekend of the summer and a time when Newfoundlanders like to head out on the highway for some camping or just an adventure. RCMP will also be out in force keeping our highways safe. Cpl Jolene Garland says police made 5 impaired driving arrests last weekend, however none were reported from the west coast. She says impaired drivers put everyone at risk and there are stiff penalties for impaired driving. Cpl Garland says there will be increased police presence on our roadways this long weekend.
