Dwan Street elected as president of the Fish, Food and Allied Workers union

    Her comments on social media say “Tonight we made history and Tonight you elected your first female President in the history of FFAW.”

    A woman is now at the helm of one of the strongest unions in this province. Dwan Street was elected by members of the Fish, Food and Allied Workers union last night. Her comments on social media say “Tonight we made history and Tonight you elected your first female President in the history of FFAW.” Street says “the tide has changed and The new era of FFAW is coming. Meanwhile, Jeff Loder of the Association of Seafood Producers says “the Association of Seafood Producers and its membership look forward to working with Street as they continue a commitment to sustainability, and to build the value of the fishery for the people of this province.”  Sheldon Squibb, Brenda King, Alvin Petten, Eldred Woodford, Patsy Chaulk and Jason Sullivan were also elected to the board.
