Water will be released through Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River.

Deer Lake Power will be opening the gates at Main Dam this Friday to get to a safe water level at the Grand Lake Reservoir. It will start around noon but how long it will last is unknown at this point. Water will be released through Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River. Some areas usually accessible by land may become cut off. People are advised to use caution near shorelines and waterways. The town of Deer Lake remains under a flood watch, while Pasadena and Steady Brook are advising residents to use caution and keep an eye on their properties due to high water levels in the Humber River.
