The Mayor says choices had to be made to come up with a balanced budget. “This is a consensus building event and we try to reach an agreement on what’s best and a budget that works," he says.
The city of Corner Brook is working on the budget which will be available next month. Mayor Jim Parsons says it will be a balanced budget since the city is mandated to do so. He says right across the country, we are living in odd times. “Inflation isn’t dropping, the cost of living is rising, and the costs of fuel and groceries are going up,” he says. “Expenses have gone through the roof and a new ladder fire truck is on the way.”
