He says the next closure will be University Drive and a new headwall will be built.

The hope is to have phase two of the $2.7 million Deep Gulch culvert replacement completed by this weekend. Corner Brook Mayor says O’Connell Drive has been closed since Sunday. He says the next closure will be University Drive and a new headwall will be built. There’s a brook running through and underground infrastructure is still working but this will reroute the brook. Parsons says there will be quite a bit of off road work taking place as well. Meanwhile, he says there’s work taking place in Margaret Bowater Park modifying the splash pad area.

In addition to new concrete on the outdoor pool deck, two metres has been added to the perimeter of the splash pad. When Public Works gives the all clear, the pool and splash pad will open July 1st on Canada Day.
