It’s been years since buses in the city of Corner Brook were so full, some passengers had to be left at stops. It’s a new issue in the city which staff and council are working to find solutions. Mayor Jim Parsons says a couple of new buses have started this week, and these buses can carry 27 passengers each. He says the city is looking at other initiatives, including transit options for those with accessibility needs and will be rolling out new ways to get people where they need to go. A recent Accessible Transit study by Dillon Consulting identified capacity challenges with Corner Brook’s transit system. The recommendation was the need for larger capacity buses.
