Corner Brook city Council spent close to $9,000 less on travel from July to December of last year than they did the year before. Remuneration and Reimbursement Regulations states that "A summary of Council travel expenses by Councilor will be provided to Council semi-annually and reported on at a public meeting." Deputy Mayor Linda Chaisson read out the numbers during this week’s public meeting. The Mayor spent $1396.08, Deputy Mayor Chaisson, $1309.75, Councillor Gill, $360.00, and Councillor Pender spent $906.50. Councillors Griffin, Granter, and Keeping spent nothing. The total for all council is just under $4,000. The total during the same period in 2023 was close to $13,000
