Deadline for applications is September 29th.

Nominations are open for the Adele Poynter Memorial Award through Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador. The award is valued at $1000 and is awarded to one youth in the province who has demonstrated an active commitment to the environmental or cultural resources of the province through their volunteer/work activities. Deadline for applications is September 29th. This year, the 31st Green Team season employed close to 100 youth. Community gardens, trail work, local history research, collecting data on marine debris and populations, and water quality analysis are just a few of the exciting projects that youth contributed to this summer. Each Green Team consisted of 2 to 7 members working to complete a cultural or environmental conservation project in partnership with local organizations and municipalities. The Green Team has operated in the province since 1993- employing more than 3000 youth on over 700 projects in more than 140 communities across the province.
