A man, born and raised in Cartwright, Labrador, took time to speak on Bayfm’s Scoffs and Scuffs about how music saved him. Dale Hamel now lives in Cormack and is a singer-songwriter, musician, producer and artist and is the owner of Hooligan Studios. He says the goal is to help musicians get their talent out there. Hamel says he started out playing in bars when he was just 15 or 16 and with that, came the party scene. He says eventually, music saved him when the partying became too much. Hamel writes about addiction and people affected by it to help those through his music and writing. He’s with a group of friends from the Deer Lake area in a band called, "Band of Brothers" As an artist, Hamel started doodling at a young age and evolved into charcoal portraits and digital art.
