The Staples Stuff the Backpack event takes place August 17th from 11 am until 2pm.

Summer is a time of fun but for some parents it’s a time of worry over how to pay for supplies, clothes, and more for the kids as they head back to school. That’s why Bayfm is a proud sponsor of the “Stuff the Backpack” event in partnership with Staples and the Vine Place Community centre. Wendy Norton is the manager at Staples in Corner Brook. She says the old event was called block the bus, and it’s really important because Vine Place is very dear to them. She says it makes sense for Staples to be involved and they are close with schools to find out what they need. Mike Kierley is with Vine Place. He says school supplies are very expensive and this is an opportunity to help some low income families. Kierley says middle income  families from the past can’t afford to get all the supplies needed, especially with more than one child.  He says a lot of f families need this help.  The Staples Stuff the Backpack event takes place August 17th from 11 am until 2pm.
