Board Chair Kody Gardner says this will mean a better signal reaching more listeners. He says stay tuned because there are plans in the works to reach listeners in the Bay St. George and Stephenville areas.

BayFM’s signal just got a lot more powerful, reaching more homes and radios in the Humber Valley, Bay of Islands and Corner Brook areas.

An inspector with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) was in the city yesterday to carry out testing at BayFM’s new high-power tower site, boosting signal strength from 50 to 2,760 watts.

Board Chair Kody Gardner says this will mean a better signal reaching more listeners. He says stay tuned because there are plans in the works to reach listeners in the Bay St. George and Stephenville areas.

Bay of Islands Radio started as a small university operation and operated for 13 years before growing to become BayFM nearly two years ago.
