A spa, a gym, numerous fancy restaurants, delicious gourmet food, pictures, chandeliers, swimming pools and even a giant organ. Just a few of the scenes that I got to admire on board the Holland America Cruise Line Zaandam as made it's inaugural call commemorating its 150th anniversary.

BayFM’s Dean Clarke boarded the Zaandaam this morning for an invite only event, and it was his first time onboard a cruise ship.

An official plaque ceremony took place on the 9th floor of the cruise line followed by a tour that I was lucky enough to enjoy. Lots of smiling faces inside the ship and on the deck as well with the beautiful Corner Brook waterfront as a backdrop. The Zaandaam carries over 1400 passengers and a crew of more than 600. Holland America Lines Rotterdam made it first voyage to Corner Brook  on July 7 2004.

Holland America line has called Corner Brook regualarliy since then and has just over a handful of calls this year and plans another 6 calls in 2024.
