Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce says he’s written numerous letters to the Premier and Minister about unsafe road conditions in the district. He says there are serious safety concerns, especially one road in Frenchman’s Cove whereby half the road is gone and government doesn’t think it’s a priority.
Last week, government announced a $316 million dollar roads plan. Joyce says one district on the Avalon Peninsula is getting work done, but it shouldn’t be a priority. He says it's called Holly’s Road and more people travel the south shore highway in a day than use that road in a month. $75 million will go towards road projects on the west coast.
