City crews are on standby in light of a special weather statement issued for Corner Brook, the Great Northern Peninsula, Deer Lake - Humber Valley, and Green Bay - White Bay. Upwards of 60 to 90mm of rain is forecast to fall tomorrow morning into Thursday. Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says while it’s hard to predict if and how this will be impacted by Hurricane Franklin, they are ready with sand bags if residents need them. The Mayor says water buildup causes problems and this affects aging infrastructure. Residents needing help or sand bags are asked to contact 637-1666.
