An update on the Mount Bernard Reconstruction project in Corner Brook

    The Mayor says the project won’t be completed this year but Mount Bernard will have to be open to traffic by this winter.

    The Mount Bernard Reconstruction Project is into a new phase with closures, openings and detours in place. A new detour is in effect form via O’Connell Drive, Bliss Street, Caribou Road, Poplar Road. Traffic will be able to access Wellington Street and side streets via Main Street and Mount Bernard Avenue. Mayor Jim Parsons says work will continue until the end of the construction season. The Mayor says the project won’t be completed this year but Mount Bernard will have to be open to traffic by this winter. Parsons says it’s a $10.5 million full road rebuild that was necessary to handle sewer from the new hospital.
