ACOA and Rural Economic Development Minister Gudie Hutchings says next year’s Canada games could bring upwards of $120 million to the economies of the Avalon Peninsula. Hutchings was in the capital city yesterday to announce $19 million is being invested to host the event by supporting infrastructure and other needs. She says these Games leave a lasting legacy like the 990 games with the Corner Brook Civic Centre. Hutchings says this is one of the largest events that will be hosted in NL with people travelling from across the country. Lacrosse is being introduced in next year’s Canada Games.
