A community hub launched in Corner Brook today, one of 16 locations in NL

    Grenfell Vice-President Dr. Ian Sutherland says it was Grenfell campus who designed two “rural learning hubs” in response to the Covid 19 lockdown. 

    A celebration of connectivity in Corner Brook today as politicians and others gathered to launch Memorial University’s Community Hub at the Centre for Research and Innovation. This was one of 16 launch locations today. Grenfell Vice-President Dr. Ian Sutherland says it was Grenfell campus who designed two “rural learning hubs” in response to the Covid 19 lockdown. Premier Andrew Furey connected from the launch in Labrador saying this connects Memorial University with everyone. Immigration, Population, Growth and Skills Minister Gerry Byrne says during the pandemic we learned that we could work remotely. The Community Hubs are equipped each with high-speed internet access, digital equipment and multipurpose space for study, meetings and workshops.
