Cindy Tucker told Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit, last year the need locally was for 200 backpacks stuffed with essentials for the new school year.

School is out for summer but this  time of year, some parents are thinking about getting the kids ready for back to school. With that, comes worry and stress over the increasing costs and some people need a little extra help. The annual Stuff the Backpacks is on at Staples and a big celebration day will take place in the Staples parking lot on August 23rd. Cindy Tucker told Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit, last year the need locally was for 200 backpacks stuffed with essentials for the new school year. She says they’re looking for a big presence on that day, Dominion will provide a BBQ, and Bayfm will be broadcasting on site. Wendy Norton says the push is on for businesses to get on board and each business that does, will be entered for a chance to win a silver advertising package with Bayfm, valued at over $500. Donations can be dropped off at Staples anytime the store is open.
