RCMP are investigating the murder of a man in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Police say a 43-year-old man died early this morning in the Northern community and his death is being treated as a homicide. RCMP say there is no threat to public safety.

NL Hydro issues power warning for Saturday morning
Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro has issued a power warning for the island, effective Saturday morning, January 24, due to ongoing conditions at the Bay d’Espoir hydroelectric plant and higher-than-normal electricity demand.

One ATV operator was uninjured, while the second operator – whose helmet came off during the accident - suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by emergency services personnel with NL Health Services.
