Around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, RCMP got a report of the collision between a sport utility vehicle (SVU) and a commercial tractor trailer unit.
A 76-year-old man is dead as the result of a motor vehicle collision on the TCH near Hillview. Around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, RCMP got a report of the collision between a sport utility vehicle (SVU) and a commercial tractor trailer unit. The man was an occupant of the SUV and was rushed to hospital where he died from injuries. The driver of the transport truck was also treated in hospital for injuries not believed to be life threatening. A Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene and the highway was closed for several hours. Crews worked to clear debris - including spilled hazardous fluids - in order to make the roadway safe to re-open. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is involved and the investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing at this time.
