Twelve people have been nominated for an election to fill 3 councillor vacancies in the town of Stephenville. This after nearly half the council resigned recently for various reasons. Names on the ballot will include Darren Roberts, Darrell Shelley, Gerard Pomeroy, Geoff Benoit, Ken Penton, Maurice Hynes, Patrick Mercer, Paul Green, Paul Grenier, Ray Tompkins, Tom O’Brien and Trevor Murphy. The by-election will be held March 6th.

Spat in Stephenville leads man to drive vehicle into Tim Hortons, almost hitting a woman
The pair were known to each other and the dispute escalated, and ended when the man crashed his vehicle into the main entrance of the business, causing significant damage to the building and nearly striking the other person.
