A 62-year-old woman from Ontario has died following a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway in Corner Brook on Friday
The crash happened near Logger School Road, west of Corner Brook, at around 1 p.m. Friday and involved a transport truck and a sedan. Large plumes of black smoke could be seen coming from the scene.
The woman, who was a passenger in the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were assessed by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.
RNC Collision Reconstructionists are investigating and are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
Police are also asking anyone with CCTV, dash-camera or cell phone footage from the area in the lead-up to, or immediately following, the collision to come forward.
