Dr. Noel Murphy was not only a medical doctor, he was a man who held a passion for many fields. During his time in Corner Brook, he spent time as Mayor (twice) and also MHA for Humber East. In 1988, he was awarded the Order of Canada. What most probably know him for, however, was as the founder of Humber Valley Broadcasting, which opened CFCB in 1960 and had 10 additional stations by 1975. Dr. Murphy passed away at age 89 in 2005.

His daughter, Gerine, watched her father grow the radio empire and shared some of her memories with us in studio.
