The Cancer Care Foundation NL is bringing their annual Polka Dot Trot to Corner Brook this year and registration is open. This 5-kilometre, all-abilities walk connects people of all ages to honour loved ones, support cancer patients, and celebrate survivors. Development Officer Laura Ivany says it’s the perfect name for this event which is into its tenth year. Participants wear 23 different colored t-shirts representing the different types of cancer.Ivany says one in two people in Newfoundland and Labrador are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. She says all money raised through the Polka Dot Trot stays right here in our province and participants are encouraged to register now at polkadottrot.org.

The annual Polka Dot Trot is presented by Lockes and will take place in Corner Brook September 20th. Ivany and CEO Kelly Reid dropped visited Bay Fm to have a chat with Lenny Benoit
