Mayor Wade Park says it’s in an area that leads down to Bottle Cove, which is a major tourist attraction.

The next phase of water and sewer to go in at Lark Harbour should be ready to go to tender by the end of April or early May the latest. Last week, government announced the project is going ahead this year under the provincial roads plan. Mayor Wade Park says it’s in an area that leads down to Bottle Cove, which is a major tourist attraction. Meanwhile, he says plans are underway in the tiny Bay of Islands town to build a road  to a stranded cargo ship in Cedar Cove but that won’t interfere with water and sewer which is on another stretch of road. He says the road is terrible and government has said paving won’t happen until the water and sewer is complete. Park says there will be several major projects on the go in Lark Harbour this summer and the Coast Guard job could take two years, work in lower Lark Harbour could take a year plus and  water and sewer is a 6 month job. Park says the road from there right to Corner Brook needs work.
