A police officer was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop in St. John’s Saturday night.
RNC pulled the vehicle over and after trying to arrest the male passenger for outstanding warrants, when the 37 year-old female driver took off. The officer was not injured and police did catch the two individuals later in the evening. She faces charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and assault with a weapon. The 30 year-old male passenger was arrested on three outstanding warrants and now faces additional charges of resisting arrest and breaching court orders. The vehicle was impounded and both were held for court.
