Torngat Mountains NDP MHA crosses back to the PC Party

    In a statement, Lela Evans says “Having thought about this for a long time and consulted with people throughout her district,  she feels she can give the people of Torngat Mountains a bigger voice from within the caucus that is led by PC leader Tony Wakeham. 

    Torngat Mountains MHA Lela Evans has crossed back to the PC Party after being with NDP since joining the party in 2022, This after she was first elected to the PC Party in 2019 and re-elected in 2021. Evans was an independent member for a brief stint before joining the NDP.  In a statement, Evans says “Having thought about this for a long time and consulted with people throughout her district,  she feels she can give the people of Torngat Mountains a bigger voice from within the caucus that is led by PC leader Tony Wakeham.
