The west coast is getting its first real taste of winter. Schools and some businesses closed for the day yesterday as drivers maneuvered through snow squalls and drifts. Environment Canada is predicting that flurries and snow squalls are expected to subside or shift south of the area later today through tonight, however they could return again in full force for an extended period tomorrow through to Friday. Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says city snow plows are in full swing trying to keep the streets clean.. He says motorists need to keep an eye out for pedestrians.
