The latest on government's recruitment and retention strategy for health workers

    The funding will help speed up the licensing process of Internationally educated nurses who want to work here. 

    Government has approved funding for a new Travelling Residency Program. It  will fund up to five seats per year for medical residents who must leave the province to receive medical training in their field of interest. Valued at $500,000 annually, the program supports the recruitment and retention of physicians with training that is not available here. Government has also announced over $260,000 to support the College of Registered Nurses and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses.  The funding will help speed up the licensing process of Internationally educated nurses who want to work here.
