Stephenville Crossing teacher wins National Award, Congratulations Mr. Ayre

    Ayre received the “Certificate of Achievement in Teaching” for their commitment to innovation, communication and a person-centered approach to helping students grow academically and socially. 

    A teacher in Stephenville Crossing is one of three in the province to receive a National Award. Thomas Ayre teaches Grade 4 at St. Michael’s Elementary School in Stephenville Crossing. He is one of the three teachers being recognized with the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence and Excellence in Early Childhood Education. Ayre received the “Certificate of Achievement in Teaching” for their commitment to innovation, communication and a person-centered approach to helping students grow academically and socially.  Ayre has used stop-motion videography and 3D printing to help students work in groups, tell stories and create new projects.
