Mayor Jim Parsons says people don’t come her just to see Corner Brook, it’s the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley.
There is a group of people in Corner Brook this week taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of the area with the intention of developing a marketing and branding for the Corner Brook-Bay of Islands-Humbery Valley Region. It’s part of ACOA’s Strategic Tourism for Areas and Regions, or STAR, Program. Mayor Jim Parsons says it takes a while sometimes to get these initiatives moving and the city realized long ago that they are not alone in this. He says people don’t come her just to see Corner Brook, it’s the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley. Parsons says this group is visiting restaurants, going on tours, and staying at hotels, so we can better tell people about this place. The Mayor expects to have a report from the group within a couple of months.
