For people without access to the internet or who don’t feel comfortable using this method, they can still call or visit the detachment to report crimes.
The RNC has a new online reporting system for some less serious crimes, those that don’t require the attention of an officer right away. This new online reporting system will help free up emergency lines. The portal will guide people through a series of steps to file a police report. Crimes that can be reported online include:
- Lost property
- Theft under $5,000
- Theft from a motor vehicle
- Property damage
- Damage to a vehicle
- Motor vehicle collisions
- Fraud under $5,000
Online reports are investigated in the same manner as crimes reported by phone or in-person. For people without access to the internet or who don’t feel comfortable using this method, they can still call or visit the detachment to report it. For crimes in progress always call 911.
