Shadow Justice Minister says there needs to be a crackdown on illicit drugs

    The opposition Shadow Justice Minister Helen Conway Ottenheimer is concerned the crime rate in Newfoundland and Labrador has gone up 5 percent since last year.

    The opposition Shadow Justice Minister Helen Conway Ottenheimer is concerned about the increase in the crime rate in Newfoundland and Labrador. Ottenheimer says it’s gone up 5 percent over last year’s rate. “When we see the allocation of police resources, they need to better focused on drug problems,” she says. “This has to be clearly identified to police and government that a crackdown is needed. Ottenheimer says there needs to be a crackdown on illicit drugs coming into this province.
