Some events will be held in Stephenville but Director of Security, Jason Tarbett, says the bulk of it will take place at the Corner Brook Civic Centre and Wellington Street.

Corner Brook is gearing up to host the 2026 NL Summer Games, which will be here in just over 100 days time. Jason Tarbett is the Director of Security and recently joined Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit for an update. With over 1600 athletes, coaches and more expected, Tarbett says security will play a big role. Some events will be held in Stephenville but Tarbett says the bulk of it will take place at the Corner Brook Civic Centre and Wellington Street. He says this means a sheer amount of traffic. Tarbett says overnight security at the Athletes Village will be paid positions but volunteers will work during the day. The NL Summer Games will be held in Corner Brook from August 8th-15th.
